Battlefield 3 Beta – SO FUN, but….

My PC rig is showing its wrinkles. I can only play it on low to keep a stable frame rate of 45-60. Anything higher and it starts dipping down to 20-30fps territory. -sigh-

The game is really fun. My brother and I are having a blast playing together and when we do play together we do a lot better team wise. It reminds me a lot of BFBC2, and it kinda has elements of medal of honor which I disliked, but overall its a pretty fun game. The animation is so fluid, and even though I’m playing on low the graphics are still pretty good.

There are some things I dislike so far. I dislike the new class system. I really loved the way BFBC2 did the class systems, but now this new one is dumb. Why would assault be the medic class? Why is the recon class the class that uses sniper rifles, when thats the class that has the c4 and spawn radio, which are both close range items? Doesn’t make sense.

The lag is horrible. Reminds me of BFBC2 and always playing with japanese/americans which constantly lagged. I literally die, and then see/hear the enemy shoot me after I’m dead. It’s so frustrating. When the full version comes out, there better be a way to self host games, and then I’d be happy to host a Kuwait only server or something like that to help reduce lag.

The same old problem that BFBC2 had, well it’s not really their fault, it feels like I’m playing with 5 year olds. No one gives a shit about the objective or even tries to follow it. Every game I’m either on the team with people who try to follow the objectives who are the ones that completely dominate the opposing team and it’s like I’m playing easy mode, or I’m on the team with toddlers who don’t even bother disarming/planting any bombs and I can’t even move for a second because I’m getting shot down as soon as I respawn because no one is doing any killing!!!!

The downgraded building destruction system. In BFBC2, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was destructible. If you wanted an enemy to get out of the building, you shot the whole damn building down! I have many fond memories on the snowy day level just blowing the smithereens out of buildings all the time, but now with this game, you can’t do that. Only at the end of the metro level where the buildings are can you rocket launch SOME of the walls of the building. The rest of the level isn’t destructible. I don’t know why DICE decided to downgrade this feature since BFBC2.

I’m hype for this game, and so far things are looking bad. It’s fun, but it has it’s issues.
